“EU supporting the Inter-Agency Commission on Gender Equality” – The specific purpose of this project is to assist Georgia’s executive, legislative and judicial authorities in advancing gender mainstreaming into public administration.
In light of Georgia’s recent ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against women and Domestic Violence (The Istanbul Convention), EU Delegation is supporting Government of Georgia in implementing its formal commitments undertaken under the Istanbul Convention.
The Gender Equality Commission (GE Commission) of Georgia is both the main partner and the beneficiary of the project. The contractor is NIRAS Sweden as the leader and the consortium member is CPM.
The project will provide a platform for developing and strengthening a partnership and networking in the country to allow the GE Commission and interested parties to draw on and share expertise, resources and information about gender equality policies. Parallel to this, the project will work closely with the GE Commission to develop innovative tools to enhance awareness on gender equality among the public.
